Beacon Contact: Low Force Nozzle Touch Probing for Beacon

Friday, April 12, 2024Beacon, a leader in innovative 3D printing solutions, is proud to announce the launch of Beacon Contact. Beacon Contact is touch probing using the nozzle of your 3D printer for the true zero offset. Best of all, every existing Beacon user gets this feature entirely free.

Our TrueZero technology is a low-force touch probing system that enables precise physical detection of the bed directly from the 3D printer’s nozzle. No moving parts, strain gauges, or switches required.

Beacon Contact leverages Beacon’s ultra-high resolution induction measurements to precisely determine the exact point of contact between the nozzle and the bed, ensuring unparalleled accuracy.

Beacon is now fully auto calibrating, enabling effortless nozzle and bed plate changes. Best yet, Beacon Contact works at standard probing speeds.

Our TrueZero technology ensures consistent and reliable performance regardless of environmental conditions:

Beacon Contact requires up to 50 times less force than traditional strain gauges and optical sensors, it offers a gentler touch while maintaining accuracy. With a typical force of 20 grams, Contact means less wear and tear on your bed:

Beacon Contact is set to officially launch in early May.

Excitingly, Beacon Contact is supported on every Beacon unit ever sold, simply update the firmware of your Beacon and this feature is entirely free.

Beacon RevD is available for $65 and Beacon RevH is available for $80 on the Beacon3D store.
